Class 2: 2017 – 2018
Farm to Fork Tesco Visit
In Autumn Term, as part of our work on healthy eating, we went to visit Tesco’s. We took part in a workshop learning about how to eat healthily. We looked at different fruits and vegetables, tried healthy snacks and made our own muesli. We really enjoyed it and had a fantastic day.
Class 2: 2016 – 2017
In Computing this half term we are learning how to use Crumble software. First we assembled a circuit including a Crumble Controller and a light. Then we used the laptops to program our circuit and turn the light on in a colour of our choice. We found this very exciting!
Ancient Egypt Workshop
Last half term Class 2 took part in an Ancient Egyptian workshop with Richard. First we learned about the pharaohs and what they wore. Then we took part in a mummification ritual and had a go at bandaging each other! After break we learned about hieroglyphics and designed a cartouche with our name using ink and bamboo pens. Finally we learned how to play a game called 3 men. We had a fantastic morning and learned a lot of interesting facts.
Through Autumn Term Class 2 and Class 3 are taking part in Peer Tutoring. Every Thursday morning the Year 3 children are coached by Year 5 in solving mathematical problems and challenges. Year 2 are supported in their use of Bug Club by the Year 4 children who hear them read and ask questions to develop their understanding.
